1 Week 1 Day to Go

Wow - they say time flies when you're having fun, and thats definitely true here.
I've had a busy week again here in Exeter.

On Friday I drove home to college for Recall Day, where a group of us Level 2s met up to chat and pray about our placements. This was really good for two reasons, firstly, It was great to hear how God has been moving in other people's lives and secondly, meeting up with all of my friends who I had been missing in Exeter.

Saturday Evening was the Puddings and Promises evening which was a fundraising event for the youth events that are happening later in the year. That went well; we had tonnes of puddings that were really tasty, and the auction of the promises raised nearly £600!

On Sunday, Simon and I led the 11-14s Sunday teaching RS2 on the importance of teamwork and we had a great time at the end praying for the Church with Paper chains. In the afternoon we had a 0-10s Prayer and Praise Party where loads of children came to have a fun time praying in creative ways and worshiping God through song.

Monday evening was the 2nd Annual Rock Solid Chip Shop Survey which saw us (despite the pouring rain and howling winds) visiting 4 local chip shops to see who makes the best chips. Points were awarded for price, time taken to be served, temperature and crispiness!

On Tuesday I joined Simon and the ICE team at Whipton Barton School for an assembly on being who God made us to be and then the ICE club at lunchtime on Moses. I really enjoy working with ICE as it reminds me of my PACE days!

Wednesday evening Simon and I planned to take the College Cell Group to Keswick in Devon in Sidmouth. Unfortunately all of the guys in the cell group were busy revising and couldn't come so Simon and I went on our own. It was a great evening looking at 2 Corinthians 5 and was a good chance to refocus on God and remember what He has done for us all.

Thursday I went to a training day put on at the Cathedral called Mission-Shaped Children which looked at how the Church sees it's ministry towards young people and children. In the evening i went to an amazing evening event run by Care for the Family called Love Work, Live Life!
where David Oliver talked about God and work.

Next Friday there is a City wide event called the Friday Night Experience (FNX) which is a huge evangelistic event held at St Peter's School (a local Secondary School) so please pray that goes well and that loads of young people in Exeter meet with God there.

This placement has gone so quickly, I can't believe that it was almost 4 weeks ago when I first met this church, I feel like I've known them all my life.
