Hi Everyone,
Sorry I've not written anything in absolutely ages, however I thought that it was time for an update on what I'm doing.
I am now the Youth Worker at Christ Church in Warminster, where I spend my time telling young people about God and helping them to grow in their relationship with Him (or start one if they haven't already).
I love the young people that I'm working with, I love my job and I really love seeing what God has done and is doing in the lives of those I'm working with.
Next weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) we're doing what I think is going to be the hardest challenge that I have ever faced as a Youth Worker. We're doing Slum Survivor. This means that we will be building and living in slums for the weekend and facing various challenges along the way.
WHY? I hear you say. Well we're raising money for some of the poorest people in the world who live in slums every day of their lives. And it is for that reason only that I am going to spend two nights in a very cold autumn in a shelter that I've made myself with no sleeping bag or hot water bottle, with only rice and lentils to eat.
Please think about sponsoring us, we're trying to raise as much money as possible for Soul Action. If you'd like to sponsor us please click here and you can donate online!
I'll keep you posted as to how it went!

Block Placement Level 3 2008
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't written in ages, but here is what I'm doing at the moment.
I am on my Level 3 Block Placement in Melbourne, Australia staying at my cousin's house while he and his family are away in Thailand.
I am doing a 5 week placement where I am working with the Youth department of a large Church called Crossway Baptist Church.
It is the summer holidays here in Melbourne and so I am doing a lot of preparation work for the new term. There has been a few large changes in the leadership of this department and so there is a lot more preparation needed than usual.
I'm working closely with the Administrator of the Youth and Young Adults departments and so am able to see how both of these departments work.
I'm helping to plan lots of of different retreats for the department leaders at the moment including an Amazing Race around Melbourne City and a Vive (Young Adults) Mystery Tour to somewhere secret!
Anyway I'm a week and 1/2 into the 5 weeks and I'll try to keep you up to date during my time in Australia.
