At the end of the second very busy week in Exeter.
Thank you for all your prayers.
Simon and I have had a great week, a slow start due to Half Term was a welcome rest after the busy end to the week before. I was kept busy indoors on Wednesday researching the local area and then baby-sat for Simon in the evening. Thursday was taken up with planning for different clubs and meeting up with a youthworker from PRBC to plan the youthwork for an away weekend for another church that was taking place on Saturday.
On Friday Simon and I planned the Sunday morning and evening youthwork and Rock Solid for Monday.
Saturday morning was taken up with the away day at Sidholme Hotel in Sidmouth where Andy and I did the youthwork while Simon, Kay and Jon did the childrens work. In the afternoon I took Andy and Jon out for a coffee and spent time getting to know them.
Sunday morning was RS2 for the 11-14s which was all about how we spend our money. After Church I went to Simon's for lunch and then spent time at their allotment and the park with their family and another family from the church. In the evening we had Mosaic where we talked about listening skills and body language, Simon and I did an interview where I told my testimony and then the young people critiqued Simon's listening style.
On Monday we took one of the Church's youth who is interested in working with Simon next year on his gap year to a SWYM conference at Hill House. I hadn't been to Hill House since year 6 at school when we did a Black Rock Adventure week. We had a great day and I met friends that I hadn't seen for ages. In the evening I attended Christian Endevour and then we had Rock Solid where we talked about alcohol and drinking so we made cocktails and did gargling challenges.
Coming up I've got Recall day back at College on Friday, a Puddings and Promises evening on Saturday to raise money for the youthwork of the church. Sunday afternoon we've got an under 10s Prayer and Praise party.
